Rosemary Blood Orange Sparkling Cocktail

Rosemary Orange Sparkling CocktailHappy Monday guys!  I hope your week is off to a beautiful start!  Today I’m sharing a delicious, refreshing cocktail that’s perfect for serving and sipping during the holidays!

I’m not a huge cocktail person, if I’m honest.  My go-to drink when eating out is a bold, dry red wine, especially a Red Zinfandel!  I’ve yet to have one I don’t like!

Butttttt… I do enjoy a good cocktail every so often, especially at events or parties and around the holidays. 🙂  This one is perfect for those who normally loves wine or dry cocktails!  It’s citrusy and refreshing, has a slight herbal touch, and isn’t very sweet (although, you can definitely add some simple syrup if sweet is your jam!).  It also has the added bonus of being sparkling, which is perfect for the Holidays and New Years!! (did I mention it’s also super easy & quick to make?)

What you’ll need:

Blood Orange Juice Concentrate

Rosemary Sprigs

Orange Liquor or Rum

Prosecco

Orange Bitters

Blood Orange/Clementine Slices

Classy Champagne Glasses

Optional Additions based on Preference:

-Festive Straws

-Simple Syrup (if you like your cocktails sweeter)

Rosemary Orange Sparkling Cocktail

How to Make:

-Pour 1.5 ounces of Blood Orange Juice Concentrate into a Champagne Glass (I used one that had a mixture of different types of orange juices!).

-Add 1 ounce of Rum or Orange Liquor (I loved it with rum, but it means it will be less sweet).

-Add a dash of Orange Bitters.

-Add Prosecco till the glass is 1 inch from being full.

-Garnish with a sprig or two of Rosemary and an Orange or Clementine Slice (since the juice concentrate was a mixture of orange juices and blood oranges were a bit too big for a champagne glass rim, I used clementines).

Optional Variations:

-Soak a few Rosemary Springs in the concentrated juice overnight to boost the Rosemary Flavor.

-Use Clementine Juice Concentrate or another Citrus Juice Concentrate

-Add Rum and Orange Liquor (personally I would keep the added alcohol to 1.5 ounces max)!

-Add simple syrup before adding the Prosecco so a bit sweeter of a cocktail.

-Add a festive straw to making sipping easier and fun!

As you can see, it’s super easy to make and easy to tweak to fit your preferences!

Since it’s a sparkling wine based cocktail, I choose to use champagne glasses.  These particular glasses are crystal, from Villeroy & Boch.  I have their everyday red and white wine glasses as well, and really like them!  The glass is thin (for some reason I’m super particular about my glasses being thin!  It makes whatever you’re drinking taste so much better, and I’d even go as far as saying more expensive!), and the silhouette is elegant and modern.  The best part?  They’re only $20 for a set of 4, and you can get an extra 30% off with code ‘CHEERS30’!

I’d love to hear if you guys try the cocktail out and if you like it!  I’d also love hear any of your own favorite cocktail recipes…  Let me know in the comments below!  I linked the glasses as well as a few of the items I used for the cocktails!

Cheers,

Laurelle

This looks like a really good drink. I like the garnishes.
