Happy Saturday guys! I’m finishing this post in a cute little brewery down the shore, with twinkle lights above me and the Beatles playing in the background. Ross and I decided to stay a few nights for a little mini vacation before the school year starts up for him, and the fresh ocean air and slower pace is just what we needed after a crazy busy summer!
Today I wanted to share with you two things that have been making me incredibly happy! My new Gucci bag and this outfit. I feel like in the business & stress of what was this summer, I forgot to celebrate the little (and even big) moments and to share the things that I’ve been loving and have been making me happy! To an extent… you guys have definitely gotten quite a dose of Mitsy on my Instastories lately… (#sorrynotsorry 😉 )
A lot of big things happened this summer, like reaching personal/blog goals, taking Mitsy in, celebrating 1 year of blogging, quitting my job, and more. And one of my resolutions for the coming months is to appreciate, thank God for, and celebrate those milestones, blessings, and achievements more. Big and little! I truly believe focusing on and celebrating the good things in life leads to living a fuller and happier life…it’s all about perspective! No good gift is too small to go unnoticed and uncelebrated 🙂
But anyway, lets get onto this outfit! I’m so in love with this Gucci bag I got recently! It was partly to celebrate some of the aforementioned things, but it was also partly thanks to a nightmare that Nordstrom caused for me, but I ended up with $1700 worth of Nordstrom Notes and consequently a Gucci bag, so I can’t complain! Buying a designer bag is such a hard decision… more on that in a future post… but I will say that I’ve been eyeing this particular bag since the winter, which is why I went with it! There are a few other bags I really like right now, but this one was one I couldn’t stop thinking about for so long, I knew I would love it for a very long time! I tend to get tired of things quickly, so when I do invest in something expensive, I really try to make sure it’s something I’ll love for a while!
I’m also just as (well, almost) in love with everything else I’m wearing in this outfit, which is why it and all the pieces individually have been on repeat constantly the last month or so.
My top is a sale score from Zara (my shoes are too! both around $20!). I’m so obsessed with ruffles and satin/silk & chiffon right now, and I just can’t get enough of flowy tops like this one. They’re so feminine and flattering! I love them even more when paired with distressed denim and heels. It’s one of my favorite looks ever! I love that I can wear more looks like it (distressed denim/looks with mixes of casual & dressy pieces) now that I’m not teaching full-time!
These jeans are a work of art in and of themselves… they’re so comfortable and so flattering! And the hems are just amazing! I love that they’re highwaisted and a length that those on the shorter-side can wear! I’m not terribly short, but short enough to struggle with often ending up with jeans that are way too long for me. (27″ to 28″ inseams are about my limit!) I know some are frustrated with Good American jeans fitting weird in certain sizes, but I have no complaints! I scored them on sale during the NSale and just love them!
I’m also loving this beautiful starburst necklace that Adina’s Jewels sent me. It’s even more gorgeous in person than pictures could ever show! It’s so delicate and and sparkles beautifuly. I’ve been loving stacking/layering jewelry lately and love how this necklace looks layered with a delicate gold choker!
I hope you guys enjoyed reading about some of my favorite things to wear the past month or so! Let me know in the comments below if you liked it and would like to see more of these posts! Happy Weekend!
